ÇAYHAN RAHİME VE KADİR ÖZER SECONDARY SCHOOL TRADİTİONALS CLOTHES
My students introduced the local and traditional clothing of Central Anatolia and Konya.
Öğrencilerim İç Anadolu Bölgesi ve Konyanın yöresel-gelenek kıyafetlerini tanıttılar.
TRADITIONAL / LOCAL DRESS OF MALATYA
Eastern Anatolia
region of Turkey, traditional / local clothes shows similar differences in
terms of the details. The dress culture in the region can vary in different
segments of the society both culturally and socioeconomically. This shows that
there is a very rich clothing culture in the region.
As Göztepe
Anatolian High School project students, we researched the traditional / local
clothing for men and women in Malatya.
WOMEN'S CLOTHİNG
It is seen that
traditional / local clothes worn by women in Malatya are quite colorful. Three
basic parts are used as head, upper and lower.
Women usually wear
headgear made of felt called "ashtray". This cap has a tie that is
attached under the chin. A copper or silver top is placed above the ashtray.
These hillocks are adorned with beads, enamel and leaf chains. Even those who
are economically in good standing place small gold pieces on the front of the
hill. Do not write on the fez or cover the colored puff and pour the ends over
the shoulder
Blouses and vests
are used as top clothing. Round neck and side slit sleeves, a little longer
than the elbow, are used as underwear. Embroidered abayas on underwear, entaris
called "bodice" sewn from plain or floral fabrics and with frilly
ornaments on the bottom are worn. A colored, white silk belt and a silver belt
are attached to the waist.
As bottom
clothing, bright fabrics such as satin, velvet or floral flannel, baggy
trousers made without pressing are worn.
They wear white
woolen embroidered socks on their feet and thick heels, usually a black colored
tailless eater.
Men wear a suit
consisting of shalwar, shirt, vest, socks and shoes as traditional / local
clothing. They wear colored belts around their waist.
Black color is
used as shalwar and white is used as shirt. Socks are hand knitted, patterned
socks with embroidery. Rubber shoes (yemeniler) complement the traditional
outfit.
